Are Humans Humane Enough ?

Hi there, thanks for landing on my "desk" .  I am not a writer or an English major, this is just my way of expressing the thoughts i gather everyday.  Human mind is constantly talking, thinking, analyzing and what not,  and i am hoping to make this my sanctuary , consider this as a place where i can talk and you listen ! Welcome !!

As i am writing this blog, i am exactly 32 days away  from  turning 30 ! I know its late to start this but i did discontinue my old blog 4 years back. Nevertheless, here is what i am going to talk about today - Are humans humane enough ?

Err... Nothing fancy will be written below so read up.

Human beings are infused with qualities that evidently set us apart from animals. Genetically, we are inbuilt with features like feelings, emotions, communication skills and cognitive skills. but what makes humans human ? it is the very essence of our daily experiences- the warmth of a bright morning, birds chirping, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the comfort of a meal made by Amma dearest and so much more.

These seemingly small moments fill our hearts with gratitude. And gratitude is a powerful transformative tool that can help us navigate through the complexities of life. In the relentless race of life, we often find ourselves stressed and overwhelmed. However, at the end of each day, its important to introspect and appreciate the little things.

A small wave to the cleaner at your office won’t hurt; it will rather make them smile. Every time you pass by, they will smile back. This is contagious. Gratitude is contagious. Appreciating your junior on their recent work on the report will serve as motivation, encouraging them to work a little better the next time. No matter the differences in our lives and workspaces, we can always choose to be humane. Amidst all the negativities, there will always be moments when even your adversaries will rethink their stance because of the gratitude you have shown them.

Gratitude has a profound impact on our well-being. It shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, fostering a sense of contentment and joy.  Because you do need peace to sleep at night, don't you? As we cultivate gratitude, we become more compassionate, understanding, and humane. It’s in these moments of reflection and appreciation that we reconnect with our humanity. Even if today is not your day, be kind anyway, because you will be repaid sometime later in some other way. Kindness will find its way back to you .

So, are humans humane enough? The answer lies in how often we embrace gratitude and allow it to shape our interactions. We are gifted with the power to choose- so choose wisely !

End note -  Being almost 30 and having had hundreds of lemon thrown my way, i am still considering this fight for life with gratitude. Let’s strive to be more humane by appreciating the small blessings in life and extending kindness to others. No matter what lemons are thrown our way, we can try to be a little more humane each time we encounter someone or something. This is contagious, and hopefully, someday it will inspire gratitude in those they encounter as well. After all, it’s these little things that make us truly human, anyway lemonade is a healthier option :'-)
